First time driving my car in the snow.

Snow let school out early today. Let me just say, my car is terrible in the snow. The roads were terrible which didn't help at all, but at least I didn't crash (although the back end slid out a couple times without warning). I couldn't get up my own driveway (which isn't steep at all) without traction control off and LOADS OF POWAHHH!! (I have the IS300 not the TurboX. That thing is probably a beast in the snow. I'll ride in it later lol, maybe drive it.)

The trick to driving in the snow is controlling the sliding, not preventing it and maintaining a smooth foot on the accelerator.

the is300 shouldn't be as bad as the gs300 i drove in michigan for a winter. like thebloody said it's more about being able to know when your car is going to start sliding and being able to anticipate and react accordingly.

Well like I said I've never driven it in snow before so I had no clue when it was going to slide. Let me just say it slides much easier than I wanted it to lol. Oh well time for snow donuts in the neighborhood clubhouse parking lot.

RWD? Warm weather tires? Never driven in the snow? Yes. Empty parking lot. NOW!

Also while you're there learn how to drive in the snow. Slam on the brakes and turn see what happens. Try turning at various speeds and figure out when you lose the ability to turn. An empty parking lot can turn you into an expert fast.

Which I was doing, definitely. I've driven in the snow before, but in a big heavy FWD minivan, not a RWD sporty car with crappy tires lol.
